“Faces of Russian Resistance” Exhibition in Nagoya, August 13–16
We are pleased to announce that the photo exhibition “Faces of Russian Resistance” will be held in Japan for the second time. This time, at the invitation of the Japan-Eurasia Association of Aichi Prefecture, the project will be presented in Nagoya as part of the Aichi Peace War Exhibition.
📌 About the Event
The “Exhibition on War for Peace” has been held in Nagoya since 1992. The organizing committee consists of groups that document the realities of war, as well as organizations engaged in anti-war activism. The event covers not only past wars, but also modern military conflicts.
📌 About the Photo Exhibition
The “Faces of Russian Resistance” exhibition has already been held in dozens of cities around the world, including Tokyo. It is dedicated to Russian political prisoners who became victims of the Putin regime for their anti-war and anti-imperial stance.
The figures featured in the exhibition are not only politicians, but also ordinary citizens who rejected false propaganda and refused to accept the invasion of a neighboring country.
Through their stories, we aim to draw the global community’s attention to the systematic violation of human rights in Russia and advocate for the release of Russian political prisoners to be included in any dialogue with Russian authorities. Our primary goal is the early release of as many people as possible, especially those suffering from severe illnesses.
📌 Special Features and Lecture
- The exhibition will also highlight Russian musicians who spoke out against the war, most of whom were forced to leave the country due to disagreement with the authorities and imposed restrictions.
- A lecture will be held in Japanese as part of the event. Speaker Yulia Khitrova will discuss the internal situation in Russia, political repressions, and human rights violations.
