Anti-War Demonstration in Tokyo on February 22

February 24 marks four years since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine launched by the Russian authorities. We, Russians living in Japan, oppose this war. It has brought tragedy not only to the Ukrainian people but has also changed the lives of millions, including many Russians.

Today, repression in Russia is intensifying against opposition politicians, journalists, and ordinary citizens. People are afraid to talk about the war even with their loved ones. The remaining avenues for free expression online are also shrinking: messaging platforms are being blocked, and a social media post or comment can lead to a criminal case.

On February 22, we will gather once again to express solidarity with the people of Ukraine, demand the immediate withdrawal of troops, and support Russians who have spoken out against the war and suffered for their stance.
